Experimenting with photographers tricks and play with light.

This is from a test shoot for the upcoming Corryong Man From Snowy River Festival. This is not the final image I submitted, you will have to go to the festival to see that one, but it was getting close to what I was after. In the final image you can't see me in the reflection and the horse is on a better angle. To get this photo I had someone helping to hold the horses head still, one person holding my flash and then I was on the camera and holding the little toy horse up near the eye to get the right angle for the reflection. The most important thing for this to get it to work cleanly was to get the angle of flash correct. The light from the flash had to be on angle where it caught the toy horse but not the actual eye. All the light on the eye is sourced from bouncing back from the little horse and surrounding surfaces such as myself.
