Laura & James Wedding
When I arrived at the brides parent’s house bright and early you could already hear the giggles spilling out onto the street. The bridesmaids were getting ready as they were waiting for Laura’s return from the hairdresser, Birdsnest Hair Salon. On her arrival the giggles were interjected with ohh and ahhhh over how pretty she looked. These exclamations of delight only increased as she put on her wedding dress from Jack and Jill Bridal and the excitement grew.
With the details in place it was time to grab the beautiful bouquets, made by Jodi Mann at Wonderland Emporium, and be on their way. Laura’s parents looked so proud as she made her way to the car and it was an expression that never left their faces for the rest of the day.
Mount Beauty’s St. Joseph Catholic Church was overflowing with guests with many waiting outside for Laura’s arrival. A few quick photos by the waiting guests and it was time for Laura to walk up the steps to see James at the alter. A fun and personal service was conducted by Junray Lebumfacil Rayna, his first wedding in Mount Beauty.
After the service the smiles were as big and bright as the weather and it took a bit to russell in the happy crowd in for the group photo. This was followed by the family photos who were exceptionally well organised by Ben the MC.
As everyone headed off to the reception at Annurpurna Estate the bridal party and I headed to Alpine Green Tea Company for the bridal portraits. We had a bit of fun in the green tea and achieved some superb photos against the stunning backdrop of the farm and Mount Bogong.
The Arrival of the wedding party at Annapurna was well greeted by the excited family and friends and it was off to a great reception. The best father-of-the-bride speech was one of the best I have heard with plenty of dad jokes he made up himself that really got everyone raucously laughing. After some delicious entrees and mains for lunch it was time for the cutting of the cake, also made by the multi-talented Jodi Mann. There were some hairy moments as James cut through the dividers of the cake layers but he was determined to get to the bottom and Laura had no choice but to hold on for the ride. Luckily the cake survived and it was time for the first dance. Laura and James couldn’t stop smiling at each other as they shared the dance floor together but they didn’t have it to themselves for very long. Everyone was up and ready to celebrate to the tunes of DJ Nige.
As I sort through these photographs now it brings back the memory of happy moments and I hope the wedding album that I create for Laura and James will become one of their most treasured possessions. It should certainly help the relive one of the best days of their lives together.
